In response to the upcoming Cold Weather, the Olmsted Township Fire Department will be operating a Temporary Warming Center at our fire station located at 26900 Cook Road, Olmsted Township 44138. This warming center is available for residents to utilize for up to eight (8) hours per individual. No overnight or sleeping accommodations will be provided. The facility complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Warming Center is open to all residents and will be staffed and monitored by volunteer members of the Olmsted Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
The operating hours are from Wednesday, January 30 at 7:00am until Thursday, January 31 at 10:00pm.
The following services will be available:
- A warm, dry location
- Electrical outlets for charging electronic devices and operating medical equipment
- Updates on current situation
Service animals are permitted in the Center. No other pets are permitted.
Residents should to bring their personal items including:
- Prescribed Medications/Medical Supplies
- Electronic Devices and Charging Cords
- Any food, snacks or beverages
Residents are encouraged to stay indoors during this cold period. If the need arises due to utility shutdown or malfunction, we are offering this service to our residents until they can have their situation resolved.
