The Olmsted Township Fire Prevention Bureau consists of three state certified Fire Safety Inspectors. The Township businesses are split into three districts and the three inspectors rotate districts each year. If you are a business owner, this is why you see someone different every year. All businesses in the Township are inspected annually. We also provide inspectors for all commercial cooking hood systems tests, annual fire alarm testing, and annual sprinkler testing. The Fire Prevention Bureau works hand in hand with the building department on review of all new commercial construction. A Fire Prevention officer will receive a copy of all building plans and review them to make sure that the correct fire prevention measures are in place (i.e. sprinklers, alarms, etc.). On top of our annual inspections we also provide home inspections to anyone who is interested, free of charge.
