Chief of Police
John w. Minek
Chief Minek is a twenty-eight year veteran in the Law Enforcement profession. Prior to coming to the Olmsted Township Police Department, he served with the Houston Police Department for ten years, being decorated twice for heroism. Chief Minek is an Army Veteran and graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Police Academy. ChiefMinek is a long time resident of the community and holds advanced education in management, ethics, leadership, civil rights, internal investigations, and forensics. His resume is replete with advanced training, commendations and recognitions.
Lieutenant of Police
Matthew Vanyo
Lieutenant Vanyo is a seventeen year veteran in the Law Enforcement profession, and holds advanced education. Lieutenant Vanyo is a State Certified Police Instructor and recognized through out the State for his innovative teaching concepts. His resume is replete with advanced training, commendations, and recognition. Lieutenant Vanyo is second in charge of the department. Lieutenant Vanyo is the “Voice of the Chief’ during
the Chiefs absence. Lieutenant Vanyo is currently scheduled on the day shift (7am-3pm).
Police Sergeants
Kim Kort — Robert Sampsell — Mark Adam
Sergeant Kort is a twenty-five year veteran in the Law Enforcement profession, and is a State Certified Police Instructor. Sergeant Kort holds the distinguished title of “Master Evidence Technician” that is recognized by the State. His resume is replete with advanced training, commendations, and recognition. Sergeant Kort is the first line supervisor currently scheduled on the night shift (11 pm-7am).
Sergeant Sampsell is a fifteen year veteran of the Law Enforcement profession. He is currently recognized by the State as a “Master Investigator” and holds advanced education. His resume is replete with advanced training, commendations, and recognition. Sergeant Sampsell is the department’s “Detective” and currently scheduled on the day shift (7am-3pm).
Sergeant Adam is a fifteen year veteran in the Law Enforcement profession, and is a State Certified Instructor. Sergeant Adam is a “Team Commander” for the Southwest Enforcement Bureau (SEB) the area SWAT Team. Sergeant Adam holds advanced education. His resume is replete with advance training, commendations, and recognition. Sergeant Adam is the department’s firearms instructor and is State Certified in all facets of firearms. Sergeant Adam is the first line supervisor currently scheduled on the afternoon shift (3pm-llpm).
