Principles of The Olmsted Township Police Department
| To be a progressive, proactive organization, dedicated to safety and serving the needs of the community. To be responsive and accountable to the citizens of Olmsted Township through the chain of command and Township Administration. To promote the professional and personal growth of each employee through fair and flexible leadership. To create an environment in which employees can attain the highest degree of creativity, productivity, and a sense of morale. To maintain a spirit of cooperation within the Department, between Township Officials, Township employees, and other representative organizations. To be fair, honest, and display common sense and compassion in all actions. Olmsted Township is one of the fastest growing communities in Northeast Ohio, in not only population, but housing starts and visitors. We endeavor to provide the utmost in professional service both efficiently and effectively and will continue to do so. As the Township continues it’s robust growth, we too plan our growth to keep pace. While currently six Officers below the United States Department of Justice recommended minimum threshold, our twenty (20) full time Officers truly perform in outstanding fashion. We recognize the ever increasing strain of growth and continually adapt, doing more with less, and ensuring the safety and security of all residents and those traveling through our community. In October 2005 we moved into our new facility, still one of the newest Police facilities in the State of Ohio. Chief McNeeley has implemented a career development and training program, focusing less on hardware as has been the case in the past, and more on ethics and professionalism. We recognize that we enjoy the best of all possible resources, OUR OFFICERS in full supply, and are headed in the right direction of becoming the finest Police agency in the State of Ohio. |
