Facts About The Department

  • We provide Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services to a population of approximately 15,000 people in an area of 10.5 square miles.
  • Emergency medical calls account for approximately 82% of our total call volume.
  • In 2016 we responded to 1,700 calls of which 1,394 were emergency medical requests, 278 were responses for fire related emergencies and motor vehicle accidents, and 28 were for miscellaneous requests for service.
  • In 2016 the department had 2,933 apparatus responses associated with those emergency calls.
  • The Fire Department is comprised of 12 firefighters who fill three shifts of 4 firefighters each.
  • All firefighters also serve a dual role as paramedics. We offer the highest level of pre-hospital care and carry state of the art equipment.
  • Our average response time is under 5 minutes, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week.
  • The Fire Department responded to 253 simultaneous emergencies in 2016.
